Perspective

Perspective is one of the biggest things we teach our clients. Sometimes we need to take a step back from our own assumptions and thoughts and view a problem in a different way. If you’re trying really hard to accomplish something and it’s not working, take a step back and re-evaluate. My cousin once said, “You can’t catch what’s not there.” Consider the conflicts you may be experiencing right now and see if there isn't a different way to view them. Sometimes you can do this by removing the critical voice that you may be hearing and ask yourself if there are other variables that led to this outcome. If you tend to take on too much responsibility, ask yourself if there are other people, opinions, or feelings involved. You're not perfect, no one is, and it's ok to make mistakes. With that in mind, try to ease up a bit on yourself this week and consider taking perspective as a way to get through the tough moments.  Ground yourself in the small things like the sunset, a cup of coffee, or a walk on your favorite trail.
